Ole Smoky Major Sponsor of Bijou Theatre

The U.S. Cellular Stage at the Bijou Theatre is very pleased to announce that Ole Smoky Distillery of Gatlinburg, TN has become a major new sponsor of Knoxville’s oldest theatre, the Bijou Theatre, and will be presenting a new concert series starting later this fall under the banner, “Ole Smoky Presents”. This new concert series will feature acclaimed artists, as well as those who have strongly influenced others, in the Americana, Blues, Bluegrass, and Country genres, and will kick off on December 6 with Blues Rock legend Delbert McClinton.

“The Bijou is thrilled to be working with Ole Smoky”, said Board President David Arning, who further noted, “In addition to the concert series, Ole Smoky will be investing in the redesign and remodeling of the Bijou’s main downstairs bar, which will be named the Ole Smoky Bar.”

“Ole Smoky is very excited to partner with the historical Bijou, which is truly one of the most intimate and beautiful theatres, in both appearance and sound, anywhere in the U.S.”, said Joe Baker, founder of Ole Smoky. “We were born and raised in the mountains of East Tennessee, and we love the rich history and deeply rooted culture of this region. Ole Smoky and the Bijou are kindred spirits, and we are honored to support the presentation of great music, shared by friends, in such a special place.”

Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine, which includes Original, White Lightnin’, Moonshine Cherries, and various fruit flavors such as Apple Pie, Peach, and Blackberry Moonshine, has been named the “Official Moonshine of the U.S. Cellular Stage at the Bijou Theatre”. In addition, Davy Crockett Tennessee Whiskey products, which are also distilled in East Tennessee by Ole Smoky’s sister company, Gatlinburg Barrelhouse, will be included in this exclusive partnership with the Bijou.

“The Ole Smoky Blackberry Rickey cocktail, which was specially created for the Bijou’s Annual Jubilee last spring, has already become a crowd favorite at the Theatre”, said Bijou GM Tom Bugg.

The U.S. Cellular Stage at the Bijou Theatre is operated and managed by A.C. Entertainment of Knoxville, and recently completed the most successful year in its modern history as a performance venue. “The Bijou is truly an exquisite jewel, a world-class venue, and it’s exciting to experience its continuing resurgence. Partnerships like this make wonderful things possible”, said AC Founder Ashley Capps.
